    Quiet Coyote
    By Sam

Some teachers at our school use Quiet Coyote to get kids attention. Basically, it is a hand signal where you hold up your right hand with the index finger and the pinky making the coyote ears and the middle, ring and thumb making the coyote nose and mouth. It means ears open and mouths closed. We actually do this school-wide in assemblies and it works great! Another I've used with smaller kids is "Alligator! Alligator!" and the kids reply, "Chomp! Chomp!" while making an alligator chomping action with their arms and hands.
