Before you have the conference, I would probably check with the counselor to find out the boy's prior records. This may give you some insight into his behavior. Also, it seems like you might already have a sense of what is going on with the boy? What do you think is going on? Go with your instincts. If you think it is a behavioral, emotional, or physical disorder then get the counselor to assist you during the conference. If you don't think it's something like that, then maybe talk with the boy one-on-one, to gain his confidence before having the conference.
