Another Waste of Time
By Kerry

Clip to ScrapBook
We have team meetings every week. We're supposed to meet to talk about math/science one week, language arts another week, share the next week, and then whatever is on our minds the last week, then we repeat the cycle. Well,
this past week was supposed to be our share week. And do you know what our princ. and language arts coordinator did?! They told us they had information cards on the stages of literacy and reading and then the different stages on smaller cards that we think they belong in, like, the order we think they belong (I know that doesn't make much sense), from our new phonics program that
we have been using (with MINIMAL training mind you!!). We were all SOOOO angry b/c it was like being in reading 101 in college all over again. This was the day of our Open House Night. We would have liked to be in our rooms preparing, or SHARING like we were supposed to be doing. Talk about a blatant waste of time, not to mention a total insult to us as teachers who were hired because we know how to do these things already. NONE of us are new teachers, either, which made us all the more angry.
