From my experience, it all depends on the school. At one school I was at the specials had 17 prep periods per week and stopped having preps the last 2 weeks of school to get "caught up on packing". At my current school, they gave the art teacher 4 ten minute preps everyday instead of one 40 minute preps. This is one of those things that varies from school to school.
