Are you still trying to do this activity following the scientific method?

I'm trying to figure out how properties of materials will follow the sci method. It's seems to be more observational than the sci.method. Maybe I'm just not following your line of thinking. What's the sci procedure?

PS I thought of a good exp for 1st grade following sci method on seeds/plants if you need it.
