No matter how big or small your class size, you will have some low, some floaters, and some who rise about the rest. I don't understand why you feel like you are singling people out. IMO that is a good thing, as long as you
are doing it in a positive manner. Make a big deal with your lower students when they are doing well. It will boost their confidence. You have one student who is rising above the rest? Sounds like the makings of a leader. Keep on developing that trait! I bet he fineshes before everybody else and your two lower students struggle to keep ahead. Let the one who is rising above the rest help
out the two that are slagging behind. That way, she/he will be able to occupy their time and you will not have to concentrate all of your time with the two lower students, but will be able to give close to equal time with all the other students.
