word walls
By Pam

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a small room and not much wall space. I make portable word walls out of cheap white plastic shower curtains. I cut them in half and put the alphabet on each piece. Use a permanent marker because the others will smear. When we study nouns we make a wall of common and proper nouns. When we study Arkansas history, we use another wall for those words. When we are working on paragraphs and I am teaching voice and tone, I have walls with strong verbs, adjectives, etc. When we finish with the work, I fold up the curtain and put it in a drawer.
