The Phonics Dance-Awesome!

Hi Michelle,
I have had great success(and the kids, fun) with The Phonics Dance developed by Ginny Dowd who I have seen at our State Second Grade conference. She has developed a "dance" that covers the "hunks and chunks"
commonly found in words. We dance it everyday and do the rhymes and hand motions with it. She also has an "alphabet walk" that reviews the sounds that each letter of the alphabet makes, as well as the two sounds a vowel makes ("long and strong" and "whimpy" short vowels). It takes about 35 seconds a day to review them and there are hand motions as well. This has really made a difference

in their writing and reading. When I bought her book, it came with a CD. I also bought her Crative Writing and Math books.
