Sure hope so!

I certainly hope it's okay to read to them in 1st and 2nd! I am a music teacher and often share a picture book relating to our day's lesson with my students. Although K's and 1's get more books than 2nd's, I occasionally even read a book to 3rd. I know their classroom teachers read to them regularly in 3rd, although I think this tends to be chapter books. A fair number of my 2nd graders cannot/do not read many books to themselves and need all the literacy stimulation they can get!

So many neat children's books - so little time! BTW, if I'm reading a book from our school library, rather than my personal collection, I encourage the students to check the book out and read it for themselves. In your case, can you put in a plug for your public library?
