Agressive behavior ideas
By Laura

Clip to ScrapBook
Ladies;

Have you contacted the agressive children's parents? Have a conference and DOCUMENTATION. Remember what happened before and after the incident. Write down everything and if other teachers see it have them document
for you also. Is there a pattern? If not a discussion and plan with the parents is vital to getting these children help.
After a week or two meet with the parents again. Review your plan and see if it is working. If not invite the school psychologist and intervention specialist/special education teacher to the meeting with more documentation and see where it can go from there.
I
have had a few children where this has happened. Nothing is successful consistently with them. I praise good behaviors, only line them up when they are behaving properly-- then I must be next to them in line--, parents are contacted if they are agressive and severely hurt others. I have had parents call me about their child being hurt by another. I let them know that it was delt with at school appropriately then encourage them to call the school principal-- that is documentation too.
Often these children need to be removed from the home --they've seen too much-- need medication, councelling, or need more support than a one teacher classroom can give.

I hope that this helps.

Laura
