Back-to-School Night
By NJ Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
Ours is coming up next week. This year, because our enrollment has grown, the powers that be are doing in on two nights--one for pre-K-kindergarten and certain specialists, and the other for 1-3. Now, the expectation is that
you will have a handout, and the principal likes it when you do a PowerPoint. This is my first year using the PowerPoint for Back-to-School Night. I'm very familiar with the program, but am sort of nervous about dealing with the computer, my notes and staying focused. We also used to do two presentations (and by the second one, you usually had so few people there that you just did one
big one). Now, it's a possible three sessions for a half hour each. By the third one, I should be exhausted for sure! Also, it's on a Wednesday, so there still are two days left! Does anyone get a minimum student contact day on the day of Back-to-School Night? At least one neighboring district does, but we don't. Definitely makes for a long week!
