I learned By not overworked
|
|
I learned the year that I was pregnant not to take work home with me- I always come in early- my students get here at 8:15 and I am always at school by 7:00- I work during recess and lunch and I stay at school about an hour| after students leave. I work as hard as I can and do what I can when I am at school and I very rarely bring anything home with me- if I do it is an exception rather than the rule- I have felt so much better since I started doing this- if things don't get done- I just work at it the next day. My principal seems happy with me- she did complain once about me not volunteering to do extra | | things and I then outlined what all I do- and explained that I have two kids and my husband works shifts and if she would like me to come in extra it would have to be with my children- at that point she appoligized. Overall my whole philosophy has been to be as prepared for my students as I can- and as for all the extras- work on it when I have time and whatever doesn't get done just doesn't get done! And I don't stress over it!
