Clip to ScrapBook
Hmmm....had an event two years ago. I believed someone had come into my classroom and removed a borrowed video tape. I knew it wasn't a student because I'd set the tape on my desk after school. I came back from making copies
at the office and the door was unlocked. Searched and searched for that video tape. Felt lousy. Asked around. Nada. On the third day finally cleared off several books from the side of my desk. There was the video tape. I'd accidently picked up the tape along with the books and stacked them to one side. I blame myself for that one. Too much clutter and rushing on my part. Had to make
a new habit to slow down and organize...(again).
However, respecting that the possibility exists there may be some shenanigans going on with your missing papers, is there a chance you or your co-teacher may have unintentionally picked up the paper after setting an object or a stack of papers on top if it, then inadvertently lifted away the important paper to be deposited elsewhere in the middle of a shuffle? That was my mistake.
Please understand that I do empathize with your frustration. Is there clutter on the desk-top such as a LOT of papers being stacked or shuffled about, or are the missing papers being removed from the rings of a binder? Are you and your co-teacher in the habit of rushing to and from the room, or absentmindedly rearranging objects on desk surfaces throughout the day?
Could you clear off all horizontal surfaces and offer some "bait"?...sayyy...a video tape?
Your post has me pondering...hmm...why would someone remove a copy of a reading draft? Do your reading drafts include a list of test questions?
I'm hoping you get your reading draft back soon.
