My favoring during reading strategy is "think marks." I think this is Fountas and Pinell. Kids are given post it notes. Anytime they think when they read (it should be ALL the time- we are working up to realizing that) they write down what they are thinking on the post-it. it can be comparing it to another sotry, life experience, questions, feeling, a thought to share or a prediction and so on. We then share these during groups. They can lead to great conversation. Check my site for more. You can email me at mandyhollandhotmail.com if you have any questions. http://www.mandygregory.com/reading_strategies.htm
