Well, this is tricky. I am a 4th year teacher and had a portfolio organized similar to one of the previous posters with the roman numerals, however I am in the middle of a masters class that requires a portfolio as a final.
We were told that your portfolio should be organized according to your state standards. I am in DE and found my standards listed on the Delaware state education web page. So you could start with your states page. Then you take those 10-12 standards and you put two or three examples of how you can teach to that standard into that catorgory. This way you can still show off lesson
plans, photos, student work, etc. One of our required books was How to Develop a Professional Portfolio: A Manual for Teachers, Third Edition this explains how to organize according to your standards...
