Suggestion

Have you talked to the parents of these students yet? You really need to see if this is self-imposed, or parental. If it is self-imposed you may want to work with the parents on helping the student except the truth that we don't always reach perfection.
If it is the parent, I would be very concerned, and probably talk to guidance, principal, whom ever, and see what you can do to help the studnet.
Kids today have enough stressers in their lives that they don't need the added pressure of straight a's.
Another suggestion, when the student falls below an A try averaging their grades and letting them see that they are still maintaining a great grade point.
