Parent Advice

I had that parent last year. There was a particular student in my room who was a bully, picking on many of the other students. Of course, I was doing everything in my power to control this behavior, short of following him into the bathroom stall, etc.

Well, of course, the father of one of the other student's tells his son to fight back if anything happens and then tells me this information at a parent/teacher conference.

I looked at him and simply said, "Well, we have a policy at our school against fighting of any kind. If your son does fight back he will be punished the same as the other student, which could mean suspension." I left it at that and moved on.
