but you really need to check out this webpage: www.responsiveclassroom.org. AND you definitely should take some of their 1 or 2 days workshops. I can easily see the Responsive Classroom approach working for you and your| students. If you go there, please let me know what you think. I use it and my classroom is full of cooperative, responsible, learning children ... do I have disruptions? Yes! Do I have poor behaviors? Yes! But I never yell and I use very specific language with them. I also use positive and negative reinforcement, guided discoveries for materials so they know what to do and what | |
is expected, and I model, model, model, reinforce, reinforce, reinforce, and redirect, redirect, redirect. It makes such a huge difference. Please let me know how you're doing later on. KerryPS I was where you are my first year of teaching!!
