Texas in need of teachers??? HAHA
By Cass

Clip to ScrapBook
Brandi doesn't know what she's talking about. Texas is a difficult place to get hired. Sure, if you want to live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, you could probably find a job--with the state minimum pay of $24,500, of course. However, if you wish to live anywhere else--Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, etc. good luck because the teaching job market is EXTREMELY competitive. At the DFW teacher job fair this summer, there were 7,000 eager teachers to get hired for 4,000 positions. Go figure. I know several people who have been subbing for YEARS in Texas never to get hired. It's upsetting, but they have allowed too many college students to go into teaching--especially elementary education. Now, these people can't find work.
