Substitutitis
By BSJ

Clip to ScrapBook
This is called "Substitutitis."

I substitute for grades 3-4 & sometimes grade 2. Grades 1 & K drive me nuts. I also sub for 6-12 in Social Studies, Science & Language Arts only.

My experience is that when I need to
get more strict, there have been times when several students at all grade levels will ask to see the nurse/go to the clinic, use the restroom, get a drink or go to their locker or some other reason to get out of the room becuase I am getting heavy on the discipline. It never fails to happen.

Unless a students is puking or bleeding they see the nurse. Unless they reaaly need to "go"/doing

the "potty dance" then they use the restroom.
I do not allow drinks, lockers or other requests unless I have it in writing or hear from another adult.

When you have to get a little mean & nasty, the kids need to deal with it.
