I have learned so much over the past couple of years and the research is definitely saying that round robin type reading is not beneficial. I mainly use choral reading (all together), partner reading (they sit with their chairs facing the opposite direction, shoulder to shoulder), and whisper reading (so I can hear them, rather than silent reading).
