How advanced is A BEKA?
By Lana

Clip to ScrapBook
I switched my child from public school to a private school which uses A BEKA. I did this mainly because she was not being challenged in public school, but I have not been impressed with A BEKA. They are required to complete "more" work but it doesn't seem much more advanced than her public school work. She is in second grade, and I've been told that A BEKA is very advanced in the younger grades such as K-1, but as go into the higher grades, it levels out. I was just introduced to this curriculum recently, so I would appreciate your comments and anyone else's on the subject. Another educator suggested to me that I place my child back into public school and have her skip a grade... I don't know what would be best.
