I also t4ach both subjects by unit. I teach a unit of Science, then a unit of Soc. St. The only problem I've run into is trying to get enough grades at progress report time (midterm). Sometimes if a unit is particularly long, I might not have enough grades in the other subject. Just something to think about so you can plan ahead.
