Teachers as a group

Teachers as a group are not liked. A lot of pearents just love their child's teacher, but somehow think that most of the expense in education comes from these other teachers who don't take home work, have 5 months off in Summer, and spend their work day smoking in the teacher's lounge. When you reallize you have no good will to squander, it's a lot harder to worry about losing it. When the Secretary of Education calls the nation's largest teacher's union a terrorist organization, you can't expect the average person on the street to support you.
