Read to find out...
By Chicago Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
Depending on the type of story you are reading, you could have your class "read to find out..." It helps keep focus and interest of students. You would say something like, "read p. 5-6 to find out... why the main character is mad at his sister." Then when they finish reading those pages, they would raise their hand if they found out why. You continue through the story, "read p.7 to find out what the name of the main character's pet is." Etc. This is good for drawing attention to specific details in the story that might be important, and could also focus on the problem, climax, solution, etc.
