Addresses and Phone Numbers
By Shelly

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm going to incorporate phone numbers during our calendar time. Last year the teachers I work with came up with a poem to ask each child when their birthday is and as soon as they could answer appropriately their "candle" went on a birthday cake decorating the window. They were anxious to get their candle up with the others so tried hard to remember the date. Our poem was "Apples, peaches, pears and plums... Tell me when your birthday comes... This year we're looking for a toy phone that can ring so I can pretend to get a call asking a student for their phone number. Then the student will be able to come up to the front of the class and dial their phone number (or make a call home to mom or dad - not sure yet which we'll do)
