I have been teaching for 3 years now, and I still find it weird when parents twice my age come in and ask for advice. Becuase I am young they often try to railroad me into things that I don't want, and I had to learn very quickly to be tough. Look on the positive side of it though. At least they care enough about their kids education to worry. Your job would be a whole lot harder if you had a room full of parents who did not care about their children's education. Keep on smiling, and enjoy your class. It sounds like you are doing an awesome job already!
