Differences between 1st and 2nd grade
By Jen

Clip to ScrapBook
I have taught both first and second grade. In my opinion, teaching first grade is much more challenging. The students come in to school at a variety of levels. Some can read and others do not know all of their letters and letter sounds. Differentation is the name of the game in grade one. Second grade on the other hand is also challenging but most of the children can read and write by the time they are in second grade. At that age they are able to be more independent and sustain an activity for a longer peroid of time. Hope this was helpful.
