How "kind" of you to say you don't mean to offend or judge after creating a 400+ word condemnation that does just that. Do you really think anyone believes you didn't mean to offend or judge? Teachers all care - we wouldn't| still be teaching if we didn't. This is a place to let off steam in an attempt to remain sane in a profession where it is becoming impossible to make the loving, caring changes in children's lives that we all long to make. You are lucky to be starting out now, as it seems that you are getting exposure to quite a few "new" ways of doing things. I spent mega buck and 5 years getting | | to the point of being able to teach - that's what I wanted. But in the intervening years I have been required to be - in addition to a "perfect" teacher - a diplomat, a nurse, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a plummer, an electrician, a carpenter, a cook, an audio-visual expert, a computer programmer, etc., etc., etc. And at the same time I have had to remain perfectly even-tempered and an example of exemplary (sp?) living in the eyes of the public at all times. I do hope you get some help before you have to interview. Your pompous attitude is not likely to win you any bonus points when you're finally in the real game, competing against others with equal or better experience, and far better manners.
