the perfect world By joanna

The perfect world does not exist in my world. I know how hard these ED kiddos can be, I have 6 in my room a day. My day consists of giving them the best as well trying to keep one student from smacking another for using| the 'F' word at him daily, another from trying to stab another with a pencil, one from stealing you blind, and all 6 trying to out do the others behavior. I feel for the regular teachers when they have these students in their rooms because I have them 80% of thier school day. At least 4 times a week I have to restrain one or two in some form or another. At the end of my day I am tuckered |
| out. Also I do not have a planning period. I dont complain, for the kids need me (or I like to think so). Teachers have to vent about their difficult days because other teachers know what we are talking about where our spouses have no clue. My in-laws think I color and glue all day. In the perfect school love and caring person would fix all that is wrong, but I have yet to find that school. When I was in college I had the same delusional thoughts and by the first 9 weeks teaching those thoughts were long gone and I was in survival mode. You learn to give it all you can and but keep it all in porportion. Come back after you have taught for one year and see if your opinion has changed any.
