Clip to ScrapBook
I start off the year with Unit 1, lesson 1, which is an activity on first names, data tables, and graphing. My first year I would make sure to read the entire lesson before I taught it, and make sure I had all the copies,
supplies, etc. that I needed. Then just jump in! The guide tells you what you need to have the students do. I usually explain and model for the students what I want them to do, and then walk them through the steps if needed. I also do activities as a whole class on the overhead, or I have students work with a partner (that I choose) to do the work. I also supplement with some other things
like multiplication and telling time, because I don't think there is enough of that in this program for 3rd grade. Is this the kind of information you're looking for, or did you have other questions?
