hallway

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree with the advice for homework and as for the hallway, I would stop taking bathroom breaks. Last year I stopped taking breaks with my second grade class. After our 90 minute reading block I would have them work quietly on a math opener and send a few kids at a time to the bathroom (luckily it was close) They had to be quick and get back to work when they returned. This took about 5-10 min and they weren't wasting time standing in the hall. If this is not an option then I would take flashcards or something that they can respond to quietly in order not to waste the precious time we have during the day. Also insist that they go in the morning before coming in and at lunch.
