Rewards are great!!!
By Kristine

Clip to ScrapBook
I think that both rewards and verbal praise are great tools in classroom management. Verbal praise should be given continuously throughout the day and rewards should be set up on either a daily or weekly basis. I like to use a ticket system in which students earn tickets for good deeds and behavior and at the end of the week they can take their tickets to the class store and buy a reward (sticker, bookmark, etc...). The tickets work well because you are using verbal praise while giving the student their reward. I have very specific rules for earning rewards posted in my room. This has been very successful for me in the past.
