I have been teaching second grade for 7 years in a private school. Those of us who teach are given the opportunity to choose our own children's classes.
For both of my kids, I have chosen brand new out of college teachers, even though I love and respect the more seasoned teachers personally and professionally at the same grade level.
The enthusiasm and new ideas that new teachers bring to a classroom is contagious to the students, and I have to admit that I learn many neat ideas from them to integrate into my own teaching.
