I know

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach a 3-5th grade self contained. I have the same problems with content area. I have been doing it for 4 years and just take one year at a time. I usually think of certain themes I want to do each year (example invertebrates
is what I am starting with) then I do usually cycle these every 2-3 years. Do a lot of hands on activites. For example, this week we are going to start by reviewing Vertebrates (did that last year) then start identifying characteristics of invertebrates. Then we are going on a nature walk to identify invertebrates that we see. In SS, we are starting with Family. You can adapt
these things to many levels. I suggest you do whole group activites for your content area subjects. I only do small group for Reading, Spelling and Math. Email me I would love a friend who does what I do:>!
