Parents can also copy and put together mini books, teach vocab and math games to small groups, read or do homework with a child whose parents don't do this regularly with them. They can help the librarian reshelve books, take a few children at a time through a baking or craft activity, arrange and help supervise field trips, or even do some math marking. I schedule my parents (with their input on when is their best time), so that I have one at a time. I invite them to join us after September is over, so that I've had time to work on classroom routines with the class.
