tho I now teach in a public school I did an internship in a catholic one.Grade 3 as well. One of the things I did with the kids was have them write their own prayers. We talked about what prayer really was,etc and read published childrens prayers and then they did their own. I printed them up using cool fonts and they decorated them for display.
