Deb: I have 15 kids. The academic levels are K-about 4th or 5th. I also have ESL students. Some don't even speak English and illiterate in English and Spanish. My students range in disabilites from Down's, Tourettes, ADD,
autism, and EMH. Pretty much anything that is not SED. I don't have any ortopedically impaired students. Our district is very much into direct instruction. We use is for reading, math (plus teacher generated things) spelling. The resource teachers don't use it just the ALC teachers. (That stands for Academic learning center) What I was really wondering was how do you do social studies
and science. I can't use the same book over and over each year. I guess I will do science one year, social studies another and ?
I also teach life skills. Which is social skills, life skills, Weekly reader etc. I have PE too. That one drives me nuts. I don't mind doing the PE its palnning it everyday that I don't like. I don't know that many games etc. Sorry this went on so long.
