self contained planning

Clip to ScrapBook
Barb,

I have been teaching self-contained Life Skills classes for 13 years. I started in Middle School and am now teaching High School. I have found that the students do need repetition in the lessons. They may have dificulty retaining skills or need extended time to grasp the skill. The challenge is to find new ways to teach the same skills year after year. I currently have 4 grade levels and many different skill levels. I design lessons that challenge each student at their level. It is a lot of work but the only way I know to serve the kids. I am interested to know what disabilities you are working with and what materials you are using. I hope your year is going fine.
