Plants
By Sue W.

Clip to ScrapBook
Seeds.
Bring or have kids bring, seeds they eat and foods with seeds; sunflower seeds, peanuts, beans, tomatoes. Do they know a coconut is a single seed and that the super-tiny black dots in a fairly ripe banana are seeds? Cut up an apple, a pear, a squash, tomato. Peal apart a green bean from a can or frozen bag. Do they know that some plants grow in other ways, such as the eyes of potatoes?
Start a variety of seeds. See how fast beans or rye grass sprout, and how slow others might be.
