Hi Sarah. I think the problem around here is, the teachers are just now required to have degrees. The ones already teaching are having to go back to school to get them and keep their jobs. I have kept children in my home
for over 10 years and I think so many believe this is just some glorified babysitter. They don't realize that you are actually making lesson plans and trying to teach. When I tell them that, most do realize that preschool is not what it used to be a long, long time ago. The ones I have had trouble with, are the ones actually going to school now to be elem. teachers. It is almost as if they

believe they have a higher calling. I sub while going to school, and the teachers there say wow you are brave or I am glad someone is doing it. It seems as though the ones still in school are almost trying to compete and make themselves look better at your expense. I have to be around several people who do not believe no matter how many times I tell them, that this is a real degree, a real calling, and a real job. I think they need to spend a day in a preschool and find out how real it is.
