I was going to post this on the board, but I saw your topic.

Today in class, one of my second grade boys told me he was going to be absent tomorrow. I said unless you have a doctor's appt., I think you should come. He
told me that his dad was off work and his dad said he could stay home. There was more conversation, but anyway. The little girl sitting across from him said, "If you don't come, you'll miss all the fun!"

I thought it was great to hear that.

In Louisiana, Elementary cert. is 1-8, so you can teach middle school and be Elem. Certified. If you want to teach High School, you have to

specialize in a subject. So if you want math, you need a certain amount of hours of math, beyond the education courses.

I would suggest graduating in education because besides being a nurse, doctor, dentist, or other medical line, you need a certification. You don't need to be certified to work at a corporation. So if you think you want to do education, at least you'll come out with a degree and a certification. If you graduate in Business or General Studies, you will still have to go throught the certification process.

Let me ask you now, why do you think you want to be a teacher over another profession?
