re: advice

Clip to ScrapBook
My degree is in Business Administration, but somewhere along the way I, too, realized I really wanted to teach- something I had thought about in high school. I was encouraged when I started taking education courses and
discovered that I felt really comfortable with both the professors and the students. I think that gut instinct is a good start.

As far as what level, what age kids are you drawn to- comfortable with? If you like working with younger kids and teaching a little of everything, that's elementary. If you have a specific area of interest/expertise, and prefer older kids, that's more middle/high

school.

If you haven't really had experience working with kids, look for some. Maybe volunteer at a local school, or this summer get a job at a daycare or camp. This is a great way to find out if this is the career for you.

Teaching is a lot of work, but can you think of anything worthwhile that isn't? I wish you luck!
