AR and Star By Jennifer

We really push AR at my school. The kids have a folder which has a chart inside. After the kids have taken 3 AR test, scoring 80% or higher, they get to move up in their level, and grab a "prize" out of the treasure box. I also have a poster on the wall, used to track AR points. I have told the kids whoever gets to 100 points the quickest, gets to get a certificate to a book store (anything to get the kids reading).

At the school I worked at last year, the prinicpal even got involved and shaved his head. The kids had to reach a goal, and it was met..... it was great. The local TELevision crew was there to tape everything.

More about AR - The kids can get books at the librbary, or some teachers have their own "library" with the appropiate level marked on the bind of the book.
