Isn't it awful? I live/teach in a similar community and battle this all the time. And the majority of my kids have TV's in their rooms! our primary team put together a very clear letter about bedtime for primary age kids.I don't know if it did any good. I am always so amazed at the number of parents afraid to set limits and say "no". I'm pretty blunt when I speak with them.(Belive me,I WANT to be even more blunt!). When I suggest they limit time on TV or on computer games, maybe set a timer and calmly say - '10 more minutes and then bed' they act like this is a totally new concept. We talk about bedtimes during morning meeting as well as food choices and hygeine.(sp?) Sometimes I think they only hear about healthy lifestyle at school so I make it a real part of our daily discussion. (And these poor sleep deprived children are not supposed to be left behind)ahhhh.
