    Chances are that a teacher with no discipline plan will have students who act up. They also don't tend to respond to a guest teacher as readily. My answer would depend on how long you are the supply. A day ...longer. Either way you need to assert that you are the boss but you still need to respect what the regular teacher does..such at it is. I used to make lists. I would start the day by telling them what you expect. They need to know this regardless of whether or not the reg. teacher has a plan. Be prepared to reward those that excede your expectations and tell them that this is a possibility. Try to keep it positive and focus on what they are doing right. But when they do not respond to this then I record names and use checks as the other peron posted. But be prepared to back this up.
