my new schedule
By Stephanie

Clip to ScrapBook
I've re-worked my schedule, and I think it's more do-able. The only thing that worries me is that I don't have a specific block set aside for word study. Taberski says that she integrates spelling into her 40 min. writer's
workshop, but I'm not sure how to swing this yet. Any thoughts? This is what I'm thinking now:

8:40-10:15
language arts: 20 minutes ind. reading, 20 min. morning meeting, 55 min. reader's workshop (20 min read aloud/mini-lesson, 30 min independent work, 5 min sharing)

10:15-10:30
snack and recess

10:30-11:20
math

11:20-12:00
English (I teach French Immersion, so

I think that I'm going to save my reading/writing workshops for French and just do simpler activities in English - probably words, grammar, and whole group guided reading)

12:00-1:00
lunch

1:00-1:40
specials

1:40-2:20
writer's workshop (10 min mini-lesson, 20 min independent writing, 10 min sharing)

2:20-3:00
science / social studies theme
