dress code

AK,
I know, it is sad that a district feels it needs to put a dress code inforce. (But I find it sad that teachers do not have good judgment of what is "appropriate")

As I said before, I worked in districts that had
no dress code and very consevative. During the 80's there was a philosophy that thought you "had" to "dress" in order to gain respect. At one time, I would have agreed, but now, even in the business world, attitudes have socially changed. 20 years ago, my husband would not have thought going to work without a tie, button down shirt, or blazer (suit was actually preferred.) His company
now actually gives thim polo shirts, khakis, and blue jeans & blue jean shirts for Fridays to wear.

The unfortunate thing is that some teachers do not use very good judgment, such as: not wearing a bra, showing bellies or wearing revealing and short skirts. I don't agree with mandating teachers to wear a "specific" thing, but I do believe a district should be able to prevent the above things I mentioned.
