Dress Code?

Our district has no formal code. I find it appalling that district feel they NEED a code to keep teachers in line. Are we professionals or laborers. We can wear anything, so long as we feel it appropriate. Obviously we need to stay within the guidlines of the students and 90% of the teachers dress very classy. However, we all at times wear jeans and a sweatshirt on a Monday when the temp is -20. Good luck!!! Its too bad that you have to worry about dress when you should be worried about your classroom.
