where did you work? And I agree, those kids were a lot easier to work with compared to today's kids. But also we had what I call a "captive" audience. I have only taught 2 years in a "normal" 4th grade, but prior to that I was teaching Alternative Ed High school. They were FAR worse than all my boys at the prison, and I am talking about rapists and murderers. And I would take teaching the boys over the girls anyday. My girls at Alt Ed were uncontrollable.I am a female and usually felt better about teaching girls, not now (I should say high school girls), my 4th grade girls are wonderful, but they do tend to get an attitude after Spring Break (make up, hair spray, mouthy). You must have some interesting stories as well. Please share.
